1993 FIM Superbike European Championship

As in 1992, the 1993 European Championship points were awarded to European competitors in European rounds of the World Championship. The best 10 scores from 22 races would count; good news for Terry Rymer who took the title despite retiring from half of the races he started. But when he did finish, he was never lower than 4th of the championship-eligible riders. Christer Lindholm scored 2nd overall through consistency, while Mauro Lucchiari and Brian Morrison strongly represented Ducati and Kawasaki throughout the year. Former 500cc rider Joan Garriga had looked like an early favourite but, after losing his sponsorship to race in Grand Prix and struggling to enjoy the switch to superbikes, became disillusioned with motorsport entirely and retired that summer.
