For 1995 the Austrian Championship combined forces with the neighbouring Czech Republic to run half of their events in conjunction with the Czech BOBY Motion Open series and occasionally incorporating the Slovenian and Slovakian championships as well. The result was a year of full grids (with the exception of the Czech airfield race boycotted by Austrians) and healthy competition between nations, though only some of the Czech races counted for both series and only Austrian riders were awarded points towards their national championship, meaning on-track battles with the leading Czech riders mattered only for bragging rights. Karl Truchsess once again proved to be the dominant force, and this time it was his rival Robert Mitter whose season was derailed by mechanical failures. Thanks to 8 wins from the first 10 races Truchsess was secure at the top of the points table and successfully defended the crown he fought so hard for in 1994. Mitter ended the year strongly with three overall victories in the final three Austrian-Czech races.
